Benefits of Healthy Indoor Air
Dust mites are small pests that do not bite, but they can pack quite a wallop.
From sneezing to a sore throat to a runny nose, dust mite allergy symptoms can be quite burdensome. These dust mite allergy symptoms like other allergens can range from slight to more severe. In the most severe cases, dust mites may even trigger asthma.
Many of the health problems you face could be because of the air you’re breathing. We spend 90 percent of our time indoors and the air inside our homes is 5 times more polluted than the air outside. These pollutants can lead to minor health issues such as sore throats and dry eyes to more major ones such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and respiratory disease, including asthma.
The problem is that most of these problems are invisible to the human eye. In your home, the air could be saturated with allergens, dust, airborne viruses, and other airborne pollutants. If you do not have the proper equipment, the first and only line of defense against these pollutants is you.
Not everyone will have the same irritants and finding those triggers may take some work, but by limiting airborne irritants such as allergens and humidifying the air you can help manage asthma.
According to the American Lung Association, asthma can even be triggered by strong odors such as perfumes, air fresheners, and hairspray.
While there is no known cause for asthma, limiting exposure to airborne irritants such as cold air, tobacco, airborne allergens, and viruses can help.
Having clean and healthy indoor air will help limit those airborne irritants that can help you and your family manage asthma triggers.

According to the Mayo Clinic, these critters eat the dead skin cells shed by humans and absorb water through moisture in the air.
Controlling humidity is the best way to get rid of dust mites naturally.
Let’s clear the air. Whether it’s the pets, the cooking, or a number of other things, you’re ready to remove odors from your home.
Using scented air sprays or candles just masks odors and does not actually solve the issue as odors tend to linger. Sprays and candles can actually release harmful volatile organic compounds into your home’s air too.
Instead of just masking your home’s odors, let’s capture them and solve your home’s odor issues.
We all know the list of major airborne viruses: The flu, the common cold, and COVID-19, but the measles, mumps, and SARs are also airborne.
These airborne viruses are passed from person to person through the expelling of droplets called aerosols through talking, singing, laughing, crying, sneezing, coughing, and even just breathing.
While scientists are still trying to determine the infectious dose required to contract one of these airborne viruses, they do know that the disease is transmitted via long-term exposure in indoor environments.
Stale indoor air allows these infected aerosols to hang in the air due to the size of these airborne viruses increasing the risk of transmission.
For example, COVID-19 is 0.125 microns in size and most airborne viruses are about double that size at 0.3 microns. A human hair is roughly 50 microns in size.
To help reduce the transmission of airborne viruses, you will need to make sure your indoor environment has the proper HVAC equipment.
